Culture Club for Kids begins in July and is enrolling all 9–12yr olds to become Culture Club members! On Saturday 26th June, Designer Mart at Cow’s Lane presents a bracelet-making workshop with contemporary jewellery designer Ann Tyrrell. Choosing from a wide variety of gemstones, crystals, pearls and using sterling silver components – everyone will design and make their own bracelet.

Portrait of a Designer Mart trader – Astrid Crafts by Lynne Baillie

ASTRID was set up by Lynne Baillie in 2009. Inspired by the fashion of LA hipsters (Lynne spent 2 months in Los Angeles in 2008) and her love of design and making, Lynne noticed a gap in the market for some good quality, fashionable hair accessories in Ireland and decided to see what would happen when she put her mind (and hands!) to it.

Bloomsday Festival comes to Temple Bar this June

This year, the James Joyce Centre’s Bloomsday Festival celebrates Joyce’s epic ‘Ulysses’ from 12th –16th June at venues across the city. On Wednesday 16th June from 11am-4pm Meeting House Square will host Readings, Song & Dance on the Square, a star-studded afternoon of readings and songs from ‘Ulysses’.

2010 marks the 50th anniversary of Graphic Studio Dublin. To celebrate this golden anniversary studio members have contributed work based on the theme “Gold”, each with a paper size of 12” x 12” (30.5 x 30.5 cm) and a minimum edition size of 10.

Top class cycling racing to Temple Bar on 19th June

On Saturday 19th June, a top class professional cycling racing is set to celebrate Dublin as European Capital of Sport in 2010. The route will go through the heart of the city, taking in Temple Bar, Christ Church and City Hall. The event is part of an Irish Tour Series during National Bike Week.
