Dublin Circus Festival and Temple Bar’s Chocolate Festival – See all the action now on Youtube

Dublin Circus Festival arrived on the public streets and spaces of Temple Bar in July with a bang. Spectacular circus skill shows from across Europe thrilled audiences in all sorts of Irish weather from July 10th – 13th ! To check out some of the hilarious action over the weekend check out some of the online footage now on Youtube.

We also have some hot-off-the-press footage from our first Chocolate Festival here in Temple Bar where you will see percussion and vocal group Cachimbo inject their Spanish, Caribbean and African sounds and dance around Dublin’s Cultural Quarter on Saturday July 26th. These videos have captured the buzz just for you if you missed it!

Temple Bar’s Chocolate Festival 2008 – a very chocolatey success!

Temple Bar’s first ever Chocolate Festival held from July 25th – 27th was a wonderful success and witnessed chocolate lovers from all over arriving in Temple Bar, Dublin’s Cultural Quarter to feast on workshops, talks, film, visual art, music and dance all devoted to chocolate.

Dublin Culture Night 2008 - launching next week

The clocks of the Capital City’s museums, cathedrals, galleries, theatres and other cultural venues will be reset to close at 11pm on September 19th for Culture Night 2008! This very successful initiative coordinated by Temple Bar Cultural Trust is now in its third year and for the first time Culture Night will go national, extending to Cork, Galway and Limerick.

Temple Bar Cultural Trust are currently looking for a number of volunteers for Culture Night, Dublin 2008 where for one night only, over 100 of Dublin city’s museums, galleries, theatres, historic houses, cathedrals, artists studios and cultural centres will open their doors for Dubliners and visitors alike to join them for a FREE night of entertainment, discovery and adventure.

On October 21st 2008 Temple Bar Cultural Trust will host a conference on the theme of Culture and the City at the National Gallery of Ireland, in partnership with Dublin City Council. This one-day conference will provide a platform for discussion, debate and exchange of experience around some of the issues affecting Cultural Development in Dublin.

Fat Robot - an exhibition of illustrations by Killian Dunne - this August at the Temple Bar Cultural Information Centre

This August Killian Dunne a 28 year old NCAD print student will exhibit his first solo show at the Temple Bar Cultural Information Centre. The exhibition will run from August 11th - 17th is based around the subject matter of Killian's personal interests which include - Robots, Ned Kelly, The A Team and Dadaist artists.

Temple Bar’s Chocolatier has been crowned

Temple Bar’s first ever Chocolate Festival crowned Temple Bar’s Chocolatier 2008 on Sunday July 27th. We are delighted to announce that Therese Hernandez, proprietor of the Sabores des Mexico stall at the Temple Bar Food Market and her Mole (pronounced molé) was crowned the winner of this year’s Chocolate Recipe Competition.
